Accessible Planter

This raised planter bed was designed to allow people in wheelchairs to have the same gardening experience as those able to use traditional garden beds. Our five-member design team removed the limitations of previous raised planters, like beds too low for a wheelchair to comfortably fit under and soil too shallow to grow root vegetables.

After creating the design and construction document package, we built the planter on-site at Washtenaw County Farm Park in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
